Ready to join?
Becoming a member of The Bishops Stortford Social Club means joining a friendly, welcoming community where there's always something going on!
Enjoy regular event, live entertainment, games and our affordable bar - plus full access to our facilities and the chance to get involved in everything the club has to offer.
Memberships renewals take place every July, and it's quick and easy to join or renew - just ask at the bar or speak to a committee member or even another existing member at the club that will be willing to help.

If you have 40+ years of uninterrupted membership or are over 70 with 10+ years of uninterrupted membership you may apply to the committee for a life membership. Life Members do not pay a membership fee, but are expected to attend BSSC to renew each year.
How to join?
It's super easy to become a member of The Bishops Stortford Social Club!
Just pop in and see us to enquire about joining. Our friendly bar staff will give you a short form to fill out and explain everything you need to know.
If you already know a current member, you can list them as your proposer or seconder - but don't worry, it's not essential.
Once you've paid your membership fee, you'll receive a receipt which acts as your temporary membership card - just bring it with you whenever you visit the club it allows you access to your membership discount.

What happens next?
Once you've joined, you'll receive a temporary membership card (receipt). Please bring this with you each time you visit so you can enjoy access to our facilities and discounted drinks.
Your official memberships card will arrive at the club shortly after. We'll let you know as soon as it's ready for collection - or you can check with our bar staff after about a week to see if it's available behind the bar.

Membership cards
Once you've received your membership card, please remember to show it every time you make a purchase. Even if our bar staff know you, we can only apply member discounts when your card is presented - otherwise, standard prices will apply.
Your card also gives you access to the building - simply tap on the metal buzzer at the front or back door to enter.
For fruit machine winnings, your card must be shown each time.
You're very welcome to bring guests into the club, but please make sure they sign the visitors' book under your name and membership number. If they enjoy coming along regularly, encourage them to become members too - we'd love to welcome them!
If you happen to lose your membership card, there's a £5 replacement fee, and we'll have a new one ready for you as soon as possible.

OUR FACILTIES
At Bishops Stortford Social Club, we're proud to offer a wonderful space packed with things to enjoy! Whether you're here to relax, get competitive, or just have some fun with friends, there's something for everyone.
Enjoy pool, snooker, darts, and table tennis, or catch the latest match on our TV screens while choosing your favourite tunes on the jukebox.
Snooker
Upstairs we have three snooker tables ready for you to use. They can be quite popular, so it's best to book in advance - just pop in and speak to our bar staff, or contact us on 01279 654960 to secure a table.
